Berlin Bound

These past few days in Paris have been quite relaxing. My roomate and I have a UBC friend who is studying in Leiden (The Netherlands) come visit, and it was pretty cool to reconnect with them and be around someone from home. It was also one of the first times I have shown someone the city and felt really confident and happy to share with them all the things that I am growing to love. This friend also is one of those people who makes you think about absolutely everything, which was a very refreshing change from the exchange mentality.

Other then that, things are good. I had a nice housewarming party, had my first french lecture and have been taking advantage of free time to go see some Museums I havent visited yet. I went to see a modern feminist exhibit one day and to a natural history museum the next - quite the contrast.

Last bit of news is that I am going to Berlin tonight! My friend Sarah and I are taking a 15 hour overnight bus. (Thank god you can get any kind of sleeping medication over the counter in France). In light of our little vacation, I have been doing some research on the city and getting really excited about the street art. This clip is possibly the coolest graffiti EVER (while not in Berlin).

Hava Nagila

Exams are done and I am loving my new place. Life is good in Paris.

Discovered my favorite night spot as of yet last night - an old wine cellar converted into a wine bar that played a mix of edith piaf and jewish celebratory music. The place turns into a giant happy table dance at night. (Well as giant as a dance party can be inside a WINE CELLAR)

This night out was followed by an even better discovery - a friendly 24 kebab shop down the street. Apparently late night food does exist in Paris, and boy is it ever good.
